French Apple Tart

I used the recipe from Julia Child's Baking With Julia, one of my favorite cookbooks. The filling is made with six Grimes golden apples, sugar, spices, and breadcrumbs. The tart is topped with three Granny Smith apples and a sprinkling of sugar. Posted by Picasa

That's an absolute work of art. I'd be afraid to cut it up and wreck it! (Don't worry, my hunger would ultimately prevail.)

As you can see, hunger did win out in the end ... not that we were starving or anything, lol.
