Not Your Average Chocolate Chip Cookie

Clearly not all chocolate chip cookies are the same -- some are crunchy, some are soft, some are cakey, and some are more nuts than chips. These cookies, from Dorie Greenspan's Baking cookbook, are thin and crispy, chewy and chocolatey, and nutty without being too much. One of the keys is using chopped chocolate instead of chips, as some of the little bits melt into the batter, and the bigger pieces give lots of big chocolatey flavor.

I know it's icy, but I bet you'd like to bring some over.

You want me to cross the river with all the ice?? Not a chance ... and those cookies are going quickly. You are, however, more than welcome to come over today. I was just pondering my bakery cafe, actually.
