Sometimes you just have to play around with a recipe, even a favorite like challah. I rolled out the dough, added a mixture of brown sugar, cinnamon, and finely chopped walnuts, and then rolled it all back up again for the second rise. This batch came out a little drier than I'd like, but the cinnamon-walnut swirl is great--and will be really good toasted, too.
This also makes pretty good French toast.

good idea! I used to make a bread with a pistachio/brown sugar/cinammon filling. Try pistachios some time, they're good in breads.
