English Muffin Bread

I like making all kinds of fresh bread, but this one is special--it's best as toast. Which is not to say that it's bad warm right out of the oven, or even cold, but it gets all sorts of crunchy nooks and crannies when put in the toaster. Adding butter and strawberry jam doesn't hurt either.
