For our second-night celebration this year, we had a mountain of latkes, served with homemade applesauce, both courtesy of Mom. I also baked a cake, but forgot to take pics til after it'd been hacked into ... so the result wasn't so pretty. It tasted good, though: chocolate cake filled with apricot preserves and covered in fluffy vanilla icing. I used a 6-inch cake pan, which is just the right size for a small group, plus now I have another cake waiting in the freezer.
