A New Year, a New Chocolate Cake

Nothing says comfort like hot chocolate. A cup of hot chocolate brings to mind cold, snowy afternoons, ice skating with friends, or just curling up with a good book and reading while the snow comes down outside. This hot chocolate layer cake, from Fine Cooking, tastes fabulous--but not like any cup of cocoa I had growing up. The cake layers are moist, and the frosting is creamy and rich. The recipe itself is a bit fussy, and I made a few changes--like not freezing the frosting overnight and buying the marshmallows instead of making them--but overall it made for a great start to the new year.
